Description

The Institute of Astronomy (IoA) is looking for an experienced Programme Coordinator to join an exciting programme of work on extrasolar planets.

In particular, the programme is focused on the study of a new category of planets called sub-Neptunes.

Such planets are thought to be capable of hosting a wide variety of interior and atmospheric processes, including the possibility of hosting life.

The main objectives of the programme are to investigate the atmospheres of several sub-Neptunes using a variety of astronomical observations.

As the Programme Coordinator, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting Professor Nikku Madhusudhan by ensuring the smooth operation of day-to-day research activities.

From creating and maintaining documents to supporting the programme research group, managing resources and databases, coordinating finances, and organizing meetings and events, you'll be instrumental in the success of the programme.

To excel in this position, we're seeking applicants with previous experience in administrative or project coordination roles, coupled with excellent Microsoft Office skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and strong communication capabilities.

Research experience, analytical skills, and reporting proficiency are desirable. Ideally, you'll have advanced knowledge of project coordination and familiarity with computer programming and IT would be advantageous.
