We are looking for a Principal Category Manager to join our Digital & IT category, taking ownership for a team of Category Managers and Buyers, with a portfolio of sourcing categories.

The Digital and IT framework has the vision to help the NHS and wider PublicSector across the UK improve patient and social care through use of technology and achieve data-driven digital transformation.

The team aims to enable government to leverage, through compliant procurement and 3rd party supply chain, investments in the systemto enhance digital capability & resilience at national, regional and local level.

You will be the leader with vision in the field, utilising your expert knowledge to work closely with internal and external partners.

What you'll be doing:


  • Working with internal teams streamline and develop strategies in the delivery of portfolio framework agreements.
  • Collaborating with other government agencies and local public services to identify areas for product/service standardisation across health and government related service settings e.g. home care, schools, prisons, defence etc.
  • Reviewing and negotiating draft contracts for category area.
  • Leading multiple sourcing activities and develops collaborative relationship management regimes with NHS and public sector suppliers, ensuring maximum return on investment on commercial spend across the whole of the public sector.
  • Establishing and delivering effective strategies to enable collaborative purchases, trials, and longterm plans for delivery of Digital & IT product and services
  • Managing 24 reports and enables staff to deliver, enhance expertise and build procurement capability
  • Leading and ensuring the management of key areas of development within the organisation, e.g. review of purchasing procedures/quality manual, ICT systems, benchmarking, legal updates

What you'll bring:


  • Experience or knowledge of working with the NHS and/or Public Sector
  • Knowledge of UK Public Contracts Regulations (PCR2015)
  • Background within Digital Healthcare
  • Degree educated/equivalent
  • CIPS qualified/working towards
  • IT literate (expert user of tools such Ariba/Jaggaer/Bravo/Atamis/Coupa) Advanced

It would be great if you had:

  • Experience and/or knowledge of NHS Terms and Conditions
  • Knowledge of Digital Healthcare Suppliers

Salary:
up to £50,000 per annum (depending upon experience and development needs)


Benefits:
