Job Description VOCATIONAL INSTRUCTOR (LEARNING FACILITATOR) - SEN SPECIAL SCHOOL FOR AUTISM**
Prior's Court is a Residential Special School, catering for children and young people from ages 5-25, all of whom have complex autism and learning difficulties.
We are looking for an instructor (learning facilitator) to join our OUTSTANDING school (OFSTED, May 2022) and help transform the future for our young people.
You will be part of our Landbased vocational learning team teaching our young people skills in gardening, grounds maintenance, planting etc.
You'll be working in each of our Horticulture areas as well as the wider 52 acre site.You will work alongside our team of Learning Specialists, which include teachers, therapists, and behaviour support leads, as well as liaising closely with our Wellbeing teams.
We are a well-resourced and well-equipped school, set in beautiful grounds in Hermitage, Berkshire.Our vision is for our individual young people to achieve Health, Happiness, Independence, and Work Skills at the relevant levels.
You will work with amazing children and young people with Autism, supportive colleagues, have access to professional development opportunities and have a good work/life balance.
Salary:
Up to £25,000.00 per annum depending on experience.
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week
42 weeks per year (including 2 x 5 day 'Training Weeks' and 2 x extended provision weeks)
Closing Date : 11 March 2024
Prior's Court was set up by Founding Patron Dame Stephanie Shirley, whose vision of a centre of excellence for children with autism became reality with the opening of Prior's Court School in 1999.
Since opening, our support team has grown from around 20 to 500 and we have built a reputation as a cutting edge educational, vocational, and residential facility for young people with autism
Qualifications
Experience of teaching with children/young adults with Autistic Spectrum Condition in an Education environment _or _Experience of working within a special/complex needs education environment
Experience of using a range of assessment tools relevant to the needs of individuals with Autistic Spectrum Condition / complex needs
Effective working within Multi-Disciplinary Teams
