Our client in the Public Sector requires a Store Operator with 2 years UK clean driver's license.To provide support within the college of Medical Veterinary & Life Sciences (MVLS) Stores, Urquhart Building and other locations on request as part of the Stores and delivery teams to ensure and effective and efficient service.
Monday to Friday 8:00 - 16:00 with one hour unpaid break (35 hrs per week)Main duties and responsibilities:
Picking and packing of goods from the Store for onward delivery to end users across the College of MVLS.
To meet customers' expectations by ensuring that such tasks are carried out in a timely manner in line with Service Level Agreements.
Responsible for transfer and transporting goods direct to the lab/end user in a timely and appropriate manner in line with Service Level Agreements.
First point of contact for delivery drivers.To update and mage the receipt of gods delivered by external suppliers and to ensure that such goods are processed and distributed direct the relevant labs as required.
Ensure goods are handled and stored in the correct manner according to delivery instructions.Responsible for monitoring and actioning job requests, via the Ivanti portal throughout Gilmourhill & Garscube campuses and beyond. Contributing to assessing risk related to tasks and escalating as required. The use of specialist lifting equipment may be required.
Responsible for transporting various hazardous materials between laboratories including solvents, carcinogenic substances, corrosive substances, radioactive isotopes, sharps, moving heavy items including gas cylinders and bags of compost and assisting withliquid nitrogen dispensing in accordance with Health & Safety regulations.
To use and monitor the MVLS Stores ordering system to identify incoming orders.To use, monitor and update the Agresso system to identify delivery details.
Responsible for general maintenance and cleaning of departmental vehicles including checking tyres for wear and pressure, water and oil on a daily basis and report faults or damage to the Store manager.
To carry out and help with other reasonable duties to support the work of the MVLS teams at Thusrso Street, Garscube and other locations on request.
Various other duties as required by line manager within the remit of this post as appropriate to experience and skills.
Knowledge, Qualification, and experienceEssential
Scottish /credit and Qualification Framework Level 4 in English & Maths (Nat 4) or equivalent
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Competent numeracy and literacy skills
Ability to prioritise workload in a rapidly changing high pressure environment
Ability to recognize problems in their infancy thereby preventing escalation
Ability to use lifting equipment
Capable of working on own or as part of a team
IT competence
Ability to ensure paperwork is completed efficiently and accurately
Experience
Essential
Ability to demonstrate the competencies required to undertake the duties associated with this level of post having acquired necessary knowledge and skills in a similar area.
Manual handling experienceClean UK driving license held for a minimum of 2 years
