Description

Born in Bradford (BiB) is an internationally acclaimed applied research programme, working to promote a healthier, fairer future for children living in deprived areas.

Between we recruited over 12,500 families to our Born in Bradford birth cohort and have been following the lives of children born to these families ever since.

Our oldest Born in Bradford children are now reaching adolescence and are experiencing a number of key life transitions seeing them progress through adolescence, secondary education and into young adulthood.

Co-production and peer research are central to BiB's mission.

This is evident in two of our newest strands of research:
(1) the 'Born in Bradford: Age of Wonder' programme, following 30,000 young people in Bradford (including the original BiB cohort and their peers) until age 21 and working closely with schools, youth and community organisations to better understand how to keep young people health and happy and to reduce inequalities, and (2) the Centre for Co-production and Peer Research (CoPPeR) Network, which focuses on developing sustainable partnerships with seldom-heard communities, researchers and policy makers in order to develop and deliver research that improves the health of communities.

The post is on a fixed term contract for 12 months, and will be based across research sites in Bradford, including Bradford Institute for Health Research, Bradford Royal Infirmary.

Part time working will be considered, with a minimum of 3.5 days.
