Department Overview

Pfizer has an established portfolio and a promising late stage pipeline to treat patients with different rare diseases (RD).

The In-Line team is accountable for four different brands (across three therapy areas) which are being marketed across the globe; in addition some of the assets have a pipeline which require launch readiness planning.


This role is in the Global Marketing In-Line team, accountable for the development of global brand strategies and operational activities across the various regions including IDM (International Developed Markets) Region (Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Korea), North America and Emerging Markets.

The global marketing team works in cross-functional teams along with other functions such as medical, regulatory, etc as well as partnering with country cross-functional teams to ensure the strategic direction and planned activities meet patients' needs while also driving brand performance and superior customer experience.

The global team is mainly split between Walton Oaks, Surrey, UK, and NYC, US. This role will be based in Walton Oaks and working with the marketing colleagues based in Europe and US. This is a highly virtual role, with some travel across the region as required.

What can I achieve and what will I be accountable for whilst completing a placement at Pfizer?


You will work closely with the Global Brand Lead and Brand Manager on defined brand activities, from strategic to operational projects.


  • Support the team in the development and implementation of Global projects such as market research, access strategy, communications plans, educational programs and brand planning including project management support for events/activities
  • Crossfunctional working with the global team, country colleagues, supporting functions, healthcare professionals and external agencies
  • Develop, review and ensure compliant materials for each activity, gaining approval from relevant colleagues
  • Participate in and contribute to regular business meetings
  • Ensure strong country communication to gain insights and alignment for global strategy

  • Other tasks will include:_
- _ Liaising with Business Unit leaders to confirm programme requirements_
- _ Managing job openings in Applicant Recruitment Tracking System (PS Recruit)_
- _ Creating and maintaining strong relationships with universities_
- _ Launching external campaign on website and direct marketing to universities_
- _ Managing Social Media Channels for Undergraduate campaign_

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Type of person we are looking for, in relation to 'Skills', 'Knowledge' and 'Motivation':

  • Completing placement as part of University Degree either through Year In Industry/Industrial Placement or Gap Year
  • On target for a Degree Classification
  • Interest in marketing and sales
  • Strong communication skills verbal, written and presentation
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural matrix team environment
  • Selfassurance to liaise with Pfizer personnel at all levels
  • Ability to generate creative and innovative ideas
  • Enthusiasm and proactive approach
  • IT literacy (in particular, a good knowledge of Microsoft Excel is essential)
Who can apply?
