Avove is a new, independent utilities infrastructure business, formed from the utilities division of leading infrastructure services company, Amey.
We design, build and maintain the UK's utilities infrastructure to help transform local communities for the better.

The Role:
We are expanding our fantastic HSEQ team and looking for a professional Sustainability and Environmental Lead to join us Reporting to the Head of HSEQ you will provide value-added support to the organisation so that we can effectively discharge our responsibilities relating to environmental and sustainability best practice.
You will collaborate with the leadership teams to help ensure a collective vision of environmental systems and compliance and focus on our people and their behaviour to help create a positively reinforced learning culture.
Responsibilities:
- Creating and developing Avove's ISO14001:2015 Environmental Management System
- Innovation in Industry being a focal point for the communication of current trends.
- Performance Reporting & Management
- Advise against the business's environmental strategy, its implementation and performance requirements working with the ESG lead.
- Undertake conformance and compliance audits against company, legal, certification, and client requirements.
- Undertake internal audits on the EMS joint with the quality compliance lead.
- Support the HSE advisors and train up on environmental legislation and compliance.
- Upskill operational teams around environment close calls.
- Report on trends and lessons learned.
- Support ESOS and SECR reports.
- Carry out the duty of care audits on waste management companies.
Skills & Experience:
- Lead Auditor-ISO 14001 qualification
- Good communication skills
- Environmental awareness in construction and civils
