Butler rose are partnered with a well-known Not For Profit Housing Association who support the community by providing affordable housing for over 20,000 people in the Greater Manchester area, in their search for a Finance Business Partner.
My client is hiring for someone with excellent attention to detail and strong technical accounting skills, on a permanent basis working from their South Manchester offices - with agile working arrangements.
Reporting to the Finance Reporting Manager, you will be flexible and adaptable in your approach to work and enjoy working in a fast pace environment.
You should be an excellent communicator and possess the required soft skills to work effectively with stakeholders, quickly developing trusted adviser status.
The purpose of the role is to provide financial support and advice to budget holders working as part of the Finance Reporting team, and you will have line management responsibility of an Assistant Finance Business Partner.

A salary between £46, £55,000.00 depending on level & experience

Your new role as Finance Business Partner:
Your duties will include:
To be responsible for the provision of financial support and advice to the relevant business area and to translate complex financial information and advice into easy-to-understand language
To develop wider knowledge and understanding of the relevant business area to understand the key drivers for income and expenditure
To tailor finance reports to the needs of customers in the business
To be responsible for the preparation of annual budgets, including profiling and phasing, challenging new requests or increases against efficiency plans proposed by budget holders
To be responsible for collating and summarising overall budgets for the relevant business area for review by the Financial Reporting Manager
To be responsible for preparation of timely financial reporting for the Customer and Communities directorate, in accordance with the monthly management accounts timetable.
To review control account reconciliations including monthly prepayment and accruals for the relevant business area, monthly salary recharges and sundry debtors and trade creditors
To contribute to the production of statutory accounts for the Association and Development subsidiary
To co-ordinate and prepare the year end file
To provide day to day management of the Assistant Business Partner, including appraisal, mentoring, training and development
To contribute to the development and enhancement of finance system capabilities
To support the wider Finance team in the achievement of action plans and team targets
The Experience & Qualifications Required:
- ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified
- Providing a customerfocused finance service of the highest standards
- Providing expert advice, support and challenge to colleagues and being able to communicate and present complex financial information to nonfinance colleagues
- Establishing & developing strong working relationships
- Management accounts preparation and reporting
- Statutory accounts preparation
- High level of knowledge and skill in the use of Excel.
- Housing background is desirable
