Description

This post will be to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support families in the community taking a holistic approach to promoting general health and well-being including Infant Feeding.

The post holder will deliver high quality care in accordance with guidance given and work delegated by registered nurses.

You will provide support to pregnant and new mothers and their families reinforcing the importance of good infant nutruition and other health improvement messages.

Whilst working as part of the Public Health Nursing team the work will involve working across several settings including the family home, community and clinic settings and working with other professionals e.g.

midwives, in the early postnatal discharge period

  • KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO DO THE JOB
  • SVQ III in Healthcare or working towards or equivalent experience working in the role.
  • Unicef Baby Friendly training or willingness to undertake
  • Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively in a busy environment.
  • Full driving licence and access to a car
