LHH Recruitment Solutions are excited to be supporting one of their global clients in Sussex to recruit a brand new Global Learning and Development Manager role into their highly successful HR team.

The role will be responsible for implementing and drivinga series of technical training programmes that will be targeted at a broad audience with a focus on the acquisition, assessment and sustainment of the basic and advanced technical knowledge and skills necessary.

Acting as an internal consultant, you will drivethe development and implementation of a range of technical training programmes that can be delivered as part of induction and early careers through to advanced technical training and career development programmes.


Key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide ownership and leadership of all technical competency development for selected job families and roles.
  • Design and implement a series of functional training programmes aligned and prioritised to target audience and business need.
  • Ensure appropriate means of assessment and tracking of progress exist for each learning stage.
  • Establish and maintain close collaboration and relationships with stakeholders to ensure changing technical competency needs are understood and addressed.
  • Develop relationships with professional bodies, universities etc. to encourage employee professional development and recognition.
  • Maintain a global audit programme that assures the quality of training activity taking place.
  • Contribute to business development, suggesting ideas for continuous improvement.
  • Technical Training management experience, ideally gained within an engineering/manufacturing environment.
  • A detailed understanding of technical competency gap analysis and the direct and/or indirect development of training programmes that will address identified gaps.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels through verbal and written means with experience of presenting ideas to senior stakeholders.
  • CIPD or other recognised Learning & Development qualification.
