NELFT Secondary Care Adult Mental Health Service Band 4 Assistant Psychologist (12 month fixed term, 1.0 WTE/37.5 hour per week)
An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Psychologist to join our dynamic secondary care adult mental health secondary care psychology service in Waltham Forest.
We are delighted to offer this full-time, fixed term Band 4 Assistant Psychologist post based in Waltham Forest at the South Forest Centre.
The post-holder will support all aspects of the Waltham Forest Psychological Service by engaging in activities under supervision including: data gathering, triage, liaison with referrers, contributing toassessments, interventions and group programmes.
Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust.
All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment.
As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes.
The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.High Cost Area Supplement - Outer London
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,313 to a maximum of £5,436 p.a. pro rata for part time).
High Cost Area Supplement - Fringe
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £1,192 to a maximum of £2,011 p.a. pro rata for part time).
Main duties and responsibilities, carried out under supervision, will include, but are not limited to;
- contributing to the triage of referrals
- gathering comprehensive patient histories from existing electronic records
- liaising with internal referrers
- conducting preliminary structured clinical interviews and gathering collateral information
- contributing to psychological assessments
- contributing to group interventions
- conducting psychological/mood screens
- contributing to risk assessments and care plans
- contributing to the smooth running of the service by maintaining excellent records on Trust electronic patient record systems (RiO)
- maintaining and improving local databases
- undertaking the analysis of outcome data for research purposes
