Summary
An exciting opportunity to undertake a career in bookkeeping, with supported study with AAT whilst working in a fast paced team environment.
The role involves accurately processing accounting data to strict deadlines and working within a team in the production of management accounts.
The department deliver highs quality management accounts, primarily for the hospitality sector, but also for companies. The workload is performed to the highest standards and to strict deadlines using a bespoke Microsoft Navision platform.
Main responsibilities and duties
- Process accounting transactions from straightforward to more complex
- Completing and posting bank reconciliations
- Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and trial balances
- Daily income imports and reconciliations
- Posting journals
- Assisting with VAT Return preparation
- Ensure the timely receipt and processing of all data in accordance with set deadlines
- Assisting with ad hoc assignments and ad hoc reporting as and when required
- Housekeeping and procedural documentation
- Maintaining or improving any known processes
- Providing support and cover for other team members as required
- Assist in other technical and administrative areas within the Company as may reasonably be requested
Experience and or qualifications
- Experience within a similar bookkeeping role in a professional services environment
- Strong accounting systems preferably with Microsoft Navision and MS Office skills
- Excellent communicator with a polite and professional manner when dealing with clients and suppliers
- Ability to work to strict deadlines, producing high standards of work
- Ability to organise and prioritise workload effectively
- Parttime working would be considered if spread over days.
