CRITERIA EVIDENCE
Experience Essential
- A minimum of 1 year experience working in an environment supporting people affected by domestic violence or abuse.
Form and
Desirable Interview.
- A knowledge of community support available for people with learning disabilities.
- Experience of collecting and inputting data.
Skills, Abilities Essential
& Attributes
- Ability to work to deadlines.
- Ability to support the collection and inputting of contractual objectives & targets.
- Ability to work within Midland Mencap's policies and procedures.
- Ability to work effectively with internal teams and external partners. Application
- Well organised, with good literacy and numeracy skills. Interview.
- A good communicator.
- Willing and able to work flexibly.
- IT literate: Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint
- Demonstrate an understanding of confidentiality & GDPR.
- Car driver with valid license (Note: Business Insurance Cover required).

Learning Disability
Domestic Abuse Assistant, to work alongside the Domestic Abuse Lead.
This new role will
support the development of support pathways, prevention activity, training and the production of accessible resources across our organisation, partners, and communities across Birmingham.

What does this role involve?
Working alongside and with the guidance of the Domestic Abuse Lead and management team:
- Specifically, with and for people with a learning disability to: o Increase survivor awareness of domestic abuse, and their rights. o Enable survivors to more actively engage with local support services. o Support survivors to have increased emotional wellbeing. o Strengthen prevention pathways & partnerships between us and other organisations.
- Collect and record information for data monitoring purposes in digital systems: o The number of clients for whom awareness of rights has been increased, local engagement with support services, increased emotional awareness, pathways/partnerships in place and producing case studies to demonstrate work undertaken. o Support the Domestic Abuse Lead in preparing returns to the funder to agreed deadlines. o Keep records of relevant project activity.
- Attend events and forums as required.
- Deputise for the Domestic Abuse Lead as required.
- Support the Domestic Abuse Lead in the delivery of internal/external training.
- Support the Domestic Abuse Lead in delivering 1:1 & groupbased learning.
- Provide advice, guidance, and signposting to connect people with a learning disability to services.
- Support with producing resources in accessible formats.
