To ensure the next generation of installation professionals are properly ready for the real world of work on-the-tools we're looking to recruit an enthusiastic electrician who's looking at making the switch to teaching and is ready for a fresh challenge.


Whether you've taught before, trained up apprentices on-site, or simply enjoy passing on your knowledge and skills, we'll fully support you every step of the way as you start an exciting new career in further education and become a qualified teacher.
You'll be joining one of the most dynamic & forward-thinking construction departments in FE. With amazing workshops, a brand-new innovation centre in the pipeline, and manageable learner numbers to ensure a quality experience.

Every day you'll be helping provide a future to young people in the local community, while also working sociable hours and having access to fantastic benefits like teachers' pension and 42 days annual leave allowance (+Bank holidays)


You will be carrying out the full breadth of teaching duties, such as:

  • Teach on a range of courses, primarily levels 1 & 2 both in the workshop & theory
  • Play a part in developing our provision to ensure relevancy to the real world of site work
  • Engaging in an industryleading CPD programme to expand your skills
  • Undertake inhouse teacher training with the aim of gaining formal teaching qualifications

After your first year with us, success in this role would look like:

  • Built student skills to a high level in preparation for industry
  • Helped forge relationships with employers and other external organisations
  • Enthusiastically engaged with CPD to develop your own skills and further your career

Though ideally, you will:


  • Be timeserved with strong handson experience in electrical installation
  • Hold a relevant qualification preferably at level
  • Have or be willing to work towards a formal teaching qualification within 12 months
