Van Driver Operative

Pay:
£9.70p/h


45 hours per week - Monday to Friday

Main Purpose of Job
To drive and assist with the removal of all waste/litter as directed and in line with the contract specification.


Main Duties and Responsibilities

1 To comply with legal requirements and Company policies whilst responsible for the allocated Company vehicle.


2 Working as an individual or part of a team to remove waste/litter from the designated areas.


3 Report to Supervisor all fly tips.


4 Ensure all requests for additional work are completed and recorded upon request.


5 Ensure waste/litter is loaded safely and correctly into vehicle or container and all spillages are cleared up immediately.


6 Ensure when emptying the vehicle at designated disposal point, 'local' site rules are complied with. Check vehicle and report all incidents including tip damage prior to leaving site.


7 To ensure 'reversing assistant' is used in the safe manoeuvring of the vehicle, where accompanied.


8 To carry out and record routine maintenance, daily checks, defect reports, domestic hours logs and vehicle washing and interior.


9 To adhere to all Company safety rules and current legislation regarding, vehicle, sites, wearing of uniform and PPE issued.


10 To remain polite and respectful with all colleagues, members of the public and client representatives at all times.


11 To assist the Company in achieving its published Business Objectives and complying with all procedures in line with the ISO system.

To be successful in this position you must be able to demonstrate:

Essential

1 Fitness, health and mobility

4 Basic communication skills including written word


5 Able to work in adverse weather conditions


6 Hold a valid UK driving licence, in relevant category

1 Local knowledge of area

8 Be able to operate mechanical equipment, after instruction

11am - 6pm with half hour break 6 days a week with Wednesdays off until Sunday 8th September.
