The Short Stay School for Norfolk is a single countywide institution which meets the needs of a diverse cohort of vulnerable young people from 9 physical locations.

Most of our young people have been permanently excluded from school and are preparing for an onward transition to a new school or specialist provision.


The role involves supporting administrative and clerical functions to a high standard for the Medical Needs service and KSX team.

Tasks will involve the completion of paperwork and referrals, recording placements, obtaining historical school files, updating MIS system (SIMS), tracking and inputting attendance into MIS system and any other administrative tasks required by the teams.

General admin duties for the Hooper Lane site will also be required as part of the role.


The Medical Needs Service provides support for schools in Norfolk when providing education in the home for those pupils who are too unwell to attend.

KSX provides education in the home for SEND pupils who are waiting for Special School places.

The key skills required for the post are:

  • Flexibility and ability to work under own initiative
  • Proficient in a wide range of office skills including use of Microsoft Office.
  • Confidentiality is an important part of the role with particular regard to maintaining data involved with data protection
  • Able to prioritise work and meet deadlines
  • Good organisational skills.
  • A welcoming and calm personality.
  • Trustworthy, reliable, tactful and flexible
  • Keen to learn and develop professionally
