Our client is offering a competitive salary for a specialist role based in Glasgow, within the Insurance sector. They are an established company, with a team of 5,500 professionals that operate on a multinational level.
As a Liability Claims Handler, you will be given the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Establish if cover is in place for the claim.
  • Record all claims on the digital claims handling system.
  • Investigate all claims either from the desk or by instructing loss adjusters.
  • Make the decision on the liability and negotiate settlement of the claim.
  • Build relationships with external clients and stakeholders.
  • Provide referral support to less experienced colleagues.

Skills & Experience:

  • Experience of policy wording and terms and conditions
  • Experience within insurance and the insurance market
  • A knowledge of how to price an injury claim
  • Knowledge of reserving philosophies desirable
  • Aptitude of Civil Procedure Rules and the Claims Portal
  • Excellent communications skills at all levels
  • Excellent customer service
  • Able to work comfortably as part of a team
  • Able to take responsibility for their own work
  • Must be adaptable and flexible in terms of work
  • A good standard of planning and organisational skills
  • A good standard of IT skills
