Head of Media and PR
Our client is looking for a Head of Media and PR to lead the UK-wide media and public relations activity for a large national charity


Position:
Head of Media and PR


Location:
Homebased, nationwide


Hours: 35 hours per week


Salary:
circa £55,000 per annum (plus £3,299 inner London weighting or £1,755 outer London weighting)


Contract:
Permanent


About the role:

As Head of Media and PR you will set the strategic and creative approach, be accountable for organisational reputation and support the overall delivery of coordinated, strategic UK national, devolved nation and regional communications across the organisation to put the charity on the map

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Work closely with the senior management team to provide strategic direction and management of a planned, comprehensive national programme of cause-led integrated communications activities
  • Deliver impactful media coverage by working with internal and external colleagues
  • Lead the development of a proactive and effective press office, building relationships with key media and opinion formers
  • Oversee the use of celebrities/high profile supporters and case studies in the media
  • Lead the PR and Media Team, articulating a vision of success that will motivate and engage people and drive effective team performance

About You:


We are looking for an experienced PR pro, adept at turning issues into headlines that create real change, and at leading high-performing national and regional media teams.

To be successful in the role of Head of Media and PR you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Experience of delivering strategically aligned PR and social media to support strategic goals and KPIs
  • Experiencing of managing a team to deliver a significant increase volume and depth of coverage
  • Experience of working with policy, campaigns and research functions to lead and drive sustained media coverage
  • Proven experience of overseeing strategic social media and influencer campaigns
  • Experience of crisis and reputation management
  • Understanding of the needs of media working in the devolved nations
  • Ability to influence and persuade senior stakeholders inside and outside the organisation
  • Ability to work under pressure, with techniques to meet deadlines


To fulfil the role you must be resident in the UK and have the right to work in the UK.


You may also have experience in roles such as; PR Director, Head of PR Head of Media Relations, Head of External Relations, Senior Manager - Social Media & PR, PR and Communications Director, Head of Media Relations, Communications and Public Relations etc.
