The Active Health Team is responsible for delivering a range of services and projects that contribute to improvements in individual's physical health and wellbeing.

These projects include National School Games Events and Young Leadership Training, South Ribble School Sport Partnership, Bikeability and Active Travel Programmes, Holiday Sports Camps, and Curriculum PE Delivery in primary and secondary schools.

They are delivered in a variety of settings including parks and open spaces, educational establishments, businesses, community or leisure centre facilities.


Depending on your allocated project work area you will assist the Sport and Active Health Team Leader with the delivery, development and coordination of a range of sports, physical activity, health or active travel courses.

What you'll be getting up to

  • To plan and lead the delivery of a range of Sport and Active Health Courses
  • To take responsibility for the development and delivery of your allocated programme of courses.
  • To assist the Team Leader in your work area with the creation and implementation of individual project plans, taking a lead role in either a specific geographical area, course implementation or training programme.
  • To effectively case manage and refer participants onto relevant services such as leisure centres and communitybased services, providing advice on barriers or issues faced by participants, enabling them to access ongoing physical activity or healthbased programmes.

Who we're looking for:

Qualifications:


  • Level 3 award in education and training (Desirable)
  • Level 2 Governing Body of Sport Qualification in the activity or course you are being appointed to deliver
  • CIMSPA endorsed training based on professional standards for coaching, coaching children, coaching in the school environment and safeguarding
Experience

  • Experience delivering courses in your specific sport, health, physical activity or active travel discipline
  • Delivering courses in a range of settings including education, businesses and community
  • Working with a range of partners on sport or healthbased projects
  • Working with children or adults with health conditions
