We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Ophthalmic photographer to join our existing team of photographers working within the Eye Unit at Royal Cornwall Hospital NHS Trust.
The post will cover a wide range of ophthalmic imaging including optical coherence tomography (OCT), fundus photography, corneal topography and angiography supporting the wide variety of speciality clinics that run within ophthalmology, such as Wet Aged Related Macular Degeneration (WARM), Glaucoma, Vitreo retina and Diabetic.
Whilst previous experience within an ophthalmic or healthcare setting would be beneficial, it is not essential as on job training will be provided.
The post holder would need to have a good level of computer literacy and highly developed hand/eye co ordination to undertake the specialist imaging techniques used in ophthalmic photography.
This is a permanent position 37.5 hours per week, worked over 4 long days, Monday to Saturday and is based in the Eye Unit at Royal Cornwall Hospital.
We also provide the Ophthalmic Photography Service at West Cornwall Hospital, Falmouth Hospital and Bodmin Hospital and therefore there maybe some travel to other hospital sites.
A current full, clean driving licence and access to a car would be a requirement.
The post holder will work within the Royal Cornwall Hospital NHS Trust Ophthalmic Photography Department, supporting the Ophthalmology Service within Cornwall.
After the necessary training and induction, the post holder will be responsible for providing a comprehensive imaging, photography and angiography service to the patients under the care of Royal Cornwall Hospital NHS Trust.
Training and supervision of other healthcare professionals and junior staff maybe required.

Following the appropriate training undertake the full range of ophthalmic imaging and investigations to patients under the care of the Ophthalmic Department, including but not exclusively:
Fundus Fluorescein Angiography
Indocyanine Green Angiography
Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) of the macular and the disc
Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography (OCTA)
Colour Photographs of the retina
Corneal Topography
