Salary:
The starting salary is £43,227, which includes allowances totalling £2,841.


The salary is broken down as £40,386 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £45,615 Plus, a location allowance of £1,841 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) keeps the nation and everyone in it safe from all manner of threats. Our specialist NaCTSO Targets of Terrorism Guidance and Policy Unit (TTGP) plays a key part in that by developing, producing, and evaluating protective security awareness products for CT Policing, business, Government and the general public. As part of the team, you'll be doing something truly vital.


Managing everything from admin to performance, products, training and events for the unit, you'll be a first point of contact for stakeholders across government departments and the CT Policing network.

It will see you support research, development, and production, and produce management information to support decision making. You'll also be contributing to the products themselves by suggesting improvements.


Motivated, pro-active, and realistic, you'll have delivered training or guidance before and be adept at writing reports and carrying out presentations.

You'll be able to articulate ideas and show evidence for your thinking, and you'll be happy working alone and as part of a team.


Experience of event planning and seminar resourcing or of protective security would be ideal, though it's essential that you're willing to travel within the UK and have skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Key Tasks
The post holder will be required to do the following:

  • Support the research and development CT protective security awareness products and guidance.
  • Produce national management information by collating, consolidating and quality assuring regional data into a quarterly reports to support SMT decisions on performance and delivery.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of products and tools, and suggest ideas for improving them.
  • Work closely with partners across the police network, government departments (including HSG and NPSA) and industry, to support the development, design and delivery of CT protective security advice/information into bespoke products produced by HMG departments.
  • Work closely with NaCTSO colleagues to peer review all NaCTSO guidance and ensure that it goes through the agreed approvals and governance processes.
  • Keep up to date with UK best practice and accepted CT Protective Security methodology and analysis.
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of role specific legislation, national policy and tactical options to advise internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure that all product design complies with UK standards of equality, diversity and Human Rights legislation.
  • Assist immediate team members with the projects they are leading on and other teams where required.
  • Maximise advice delivery through the NaCTSO public website.
  • Represent NaCTSO on various relevant Police, Government and Industry working groups/committees.
  • Produce high quality reports, presentations and deliver effective and engaging briefings on behalf of the team or NaCTSO.
  • Manage projects in new areas of business, identifying impacts on NaCTSO, negotiating departmental requirements and briefing NaCTSO Units on changes to ensure efficient and effective transition.
  • Undertake other tasks as directed by the line manager.

Vetting
This post requires access to the most sensitive intelligence material on a daily basis. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Security Check (enhanced) (SC(e)) level before taking up the post; with a willingness to undergo Developed Vetting (DV) once in post, if required

Additionally, this material is of particular sensitivity to the UK and its distribution must be restricted to UK nationals. In approved circumstances dual nationals (of which one element is British) may also be granted access.

However, in the event that potential conflicts of interest cannot be managed the post holder will not be able to see the intelligence material and will not be able to perform their duties.

For the purpose of safeguarding national security and in line with Cabinet Office Policy, supported by Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), applicants who do not hold or acquire Security Check (enhanced) (SC(e))
OR Developed Vetting (DV) clearance and meet the nationality requirements cannot be offered the post.
