Test Technician, Bristol


If you enjoy solving engineering challenges, we have an
exciting opportunity for a Test Technician.This role may also involve some machining work on lathes or milling machines.


_What does the role involve?_

  • Supporting the R&D and Technical Project teams with practical assembly and testing of prototype and sample components
  • Undertaking test programmes, assisting in critical analysis of the results and development of product improvement strategies
  • Producing clear, concise and consistent test reports
  • Maintaining accurate records, results and reports using the project & testing database systems
  • Being proficient in the use of all required laboratory test equipment and be responsible for keeping the equipment in good order
  • Becoming an expert in the assembly, function and test of Rencol Tolerance Rings and other Bearings products when appropriate
  • Ensuring that users of lab equipment are suitably trained and operating safely
  • Designing and manufacturing jigs and fixtures to enable testing
  • Acting as point of contact with other teams for day to day testing enquiries
  • Continuously improving and developing new testing methods
  • Potentially machining components used in testing use of lathe, milling machines and general toolroom equipment

  • You have experience in mechanical testing, calibration of equipment, programming ability or are interested in learning this.
  • You have a good understanding of manufacturing processes, would enjoy a handson role and problem solving.

  • You may have some experience of using CAD and writing reports or are willing to learn.
  • You understand and enjoy collaboration with other teams to reach a solution for our customers.
  • Ideally, you have workshop machining experience including lathes and milling machines.
