Cornerstone recruits on values and transferrable skills, so you don't need experience or qualifications to start your career with us. We have our own Training Academy that'll give you all the skills you'll need, including the opportunity to complete your fully funded SVQ qualification


As the young people we support have their own mobility cars we will require you to have a full UK, driving licence with a minimum of one year experience on the roads.


Cornerstone is committed to ensuring our colleagues have ongoing training and support; we'll even pay for your qualifications and yearly SSSC fee

The Role


The service supports young people age within the community with a focus on maintaining and promoting independence, you will work in a person-centred way to provide support to attend college, access the community and explore new interests for our young people that have left school and support to access the community over the summer holidays for our young people still attending school.

You'll be enthusiastic and take an active interest in their hobbies which include swimming, exercising, long drives in the car, visiting new places and listening to music.

We'll be looking to you to help identify new opportunities for participation and inclusion for the people we support.


To be a great Support Practitioner, we'll need you have;

  • UK driving licence
  • Great communication skills.
  • Able to think outside the box.
  • Caring attitude and approach.
  • Positive approach to learning.
  • Able to follow guidelines.
  • Confidence in the use of computers.

Shift Patterns


Our team provide supports at varied times which can range from 8:00 - 16:00 to support young people to college and evenings from 16:00 - 22:00 to support young people to clubs and activities the odd evenings, the team work some weekends on a rotational basis.
