Full time PA/Medical Secretary
We are a private Urology practice, based in Surrey, Hampshire and London. We have 10 consultant urological surgeons within the practice who in addition to their private practice, work within the NHS at both Frimley Park and Basingstoke hospitals


We are recruiting for 2 x experienced PA/medical secretary to join our team to provide secretarial services to our consultants.

This is an interesting and challenging position, working in a supportive and busy environment.


The Medical Secretary will;

  • Provide full secretarial support to one consultant
  • Have a minimum of 5 years' experience as a Medical Secretary
  • Work well in a team but also able to work autonomously
  • Proficient knowledge with transcribing dictation and excellent typing skills
  • Be extremely organised and an excellent communicator
  • Provide excellent patient care
  • Be able to remain calm in difficult situations
  • Manage their time and prioritise work tasks; have the ability to multitask

Duties include;

  • Creating patient bookings for outpatient appointments and procedures, ensuring accurate entry of patient information. Confirmation of procedures to the relevant hospital in a timely manner including notification to all appropriate parties, i.e. anaesthetists.
  • Deal with all patient queries and where necessary liaise with the consultant should the query be of a clinical nature.
  • Liaise with GPs and/or hospital departments to obtain test results, i.e. blood tests, scan reports, and ensure they are uploaded to the patient record.
  • Manage the consultant's diary and time including clinic and theatre schedules. Liaise with the appropriate outpatient/theatre departments as necessary.
  • Send all clinic and theatre lists to the relevant hospital department in a timely manner to ensure they have an accurate record of patients due to attend
  • Audio and copy typing of clinic and procedure letters; sending letter to the patient, GP and other clinicians as required
  • Follow up on any post outpatient or theatre actions, i.e. patient recalls

Working Hours and Days


This is a full time job role, which will also have an additional job share role working alongside for 2 days a week.


The role is a hybrid of working from home and office based - days worked in the office can be discussed but are generally based around the consultant being in clinic or theatre.

Holiday: 24 days holiday and the standard 8 public holidays (pro rata).

3 month probationary period.


Salary:
£40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
