Business Support Service Leader

Salary:
£48, 867 - £51,903 (Inclusive of Outer London weighting)

An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen to join the recently created Quality Improvement division of Children's Services.

The Business Support Service Leader will lead the delivery of business support functions for all Children's Social Care, Youth Justice and Family & Adolescent Support Services and wider cross directorate co-ordination responsibilities across Children's Services.

The post holder will work alongside the Directorate senior management team taking a pivotal role supporting the delivery of our strategic objectives.

The role and key responsibilities
This is a new role within Children's Services with the following key responsibilities:

  • The directorate wide leadership and development of the business support service with responsibility for a range of operational activities.
  • Ensuring Children's Services have a robust inspection planning plan for each inspection each inspection framework and oversee effective preparation and coordination of the inspections process.
  • Develop and implementing procedures, systems, processes, performance criteria, standards, governance frameworks relating to the management of business activities of the directorate.
  • To be responsible for the business support planning process, contributing to development of the Children's Services business and strategic plans.
  • As budget holder be responsible for the effective management of business support budgets, financial payments, and health & safety and office equipment.
  • Work collaboratively with leaders across the service and externally to ensure that there are effective business support arrangements that contribute to continuous quality improvement.

About you

  • Experienced and motivated leader keen to bring your expertise and knowledge to improving the delivery of highquality business support across a range of operational services.
  • Conscientious, diligent, and focused on delivery and creative solutions.
  • Knowledgeable in at least one area
  • Inspection planning; business processes, budget management and staff management techniques and organisation change
  • Have excellent organisation and communication skills.
  • A drive to learn and continually improve.
  • Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.
  • Experience of working with senior management and sensitive issues
  • Ability to remain focused in challenging situations and balance competing priorities.
  • Experience of organisational and leading business support teams.
