In the post of Business Support and Research Administrator, your duties will include:

  • Departmental and research budget management
  • Purchasing and procurement for Departments
  • Assisting with the recruitment for new staff (academic and research), including Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTAs) and Hourly-Paid Lecturers (HPLs)
  • Support with the management of departmental space, such as offices and student areas, including arrangements for refurbishments, repairs and satisfactory provision of equipment and facilities
  • Coordinating the organisation of events/ functions at Departments and for students of various academic programmes
  • Offering help to office administration for Departments, and supporting ad hoc review/ projects for enhancement of office operations


In order to be considered for this post, you will have previous experience within a similar fast paced post role, ideally within a university, or similar organisation.

A high degree of proficiency with Microsoft packages is essential.

You will need to have excellent organisational and communication skills, along with capable of managing and prioritising a varied workload, whilst working well under pressure and demonstrating a flexible attitude to work.

The post will be looking to start towards the end of February 2023, so you would need to be able to meet these timeframes in order to be considered
