The Harborne Hospital is a brand new, state-of-the-art, £100 million hospital built from partnership between University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust and HCA Healthcare UK, located on the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Campus, Birmingham.

Once opened it will be providing a comprehensive range of services - including complex care with facilities including 50 inpatient beds, 16 day case beds and 4 state-of-the-art theatres.

We have reached an exciting stage in our recruitment journey where we are now looking for Pharmacy Assistants to join our Bank in readiness for The Harborne Hospital opening to patients in January 2024.


The Pharmacy Assistant will support the pharmacy dispensing activities and stock management, ensuring dispensing areas are kept clean and tidy at all times.

You will stock dispensing areas with the required consumables and accurately identify, select, label, charge and dispense medications for in and outpatient prescriptions according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) under appropriate supervision.

We are looking for the following skills and experience:

  • Maths, English, Science GCSE (or equivalent) Grade 5 or above
  • NVQ Level 2 in pharmacy services
  • Experience in a pharmacy setting is desirable
  • Experience of working in a hospital setting is desirable
