We are looking for a
Specialist Investigator to support the Investigations Manager EMEA to work in collaboration with the broader Business Conduct Office.

To succeed in this role, you will be a professional with knowledge and experience in investigations or a related field.

You will investigate allegations of misconduct using the Rio Tinto trauma-informed, people-centric investigation process, make findings and draft reports.

In this role, you will receive a moderate level of guidance and direction from your leader and mentoring from more experienced team members as appropriate.

You will be interfacing with investigation participants and various stakeholder groups across all levels of the organization.

You must be capable of managing conflicts, have good negotiation skills and the ability to navigate difficult discussions with participants and stakeholders.

You must display exemplary and unquestionable personal integrity, be able to take a firm but fair stand, and display enthusiastic persistence when solving complex issues.

Reporting to the Investigations Manager for EMEA, you will:

Conduct traumainformed and peoplecentric investigations into allegations of misconduct involving matters across EMEA
Work closely with a variety of internal stakeholders within our business units, product groups and functions in the implementation of the investigative process and to assist them with managing the welfare of investigation participants
Conduct interviews, collecting, reviewing and analyzing documentation and evidence and maintain comprehensive records
Prepare comprehensive investigation reports and be able to demonstrate the fair and reasonable basis for all findings, either internally or in an external legal forum if required
As required, contribute to postinvestigative discussions to identify organizational and environmental factors relevant to findings and to assist the business with the Corrective and Preventative Action process, and as it relates to ongoing business integrity risk mitigation and process optimization strategies
Contribute to the ongoing development of the investigation process as requested.
Peer review investigation reports.

About you
To succeed in this role, it is preferred you will have:

Degree level (or equivalent professional investigation accreditations)
Background in either law, forensic accounting, finance, auditing or human resources
Experience in both general workplace/behavioral misconduct (bullying, harassment, discrimination) and integritybased misconduct (theft, fraud, bribery) investigations. Familiarity with procurement processes / controls.
Experience in interviewing and report writing
Excellent oral and written communication skills (English language); French language skills beneficial but not a necessity
Experience in forensic analysis of evidence
Knowledge of internal control frameworks
Ability to evaluate large volumes of data in an efficient and organized manner
Excellent time management and record keeping and a good team ethic
