Job Introduction

The Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing all reactive & minor work maintenance works within CW&C in relation to the highways assets e.g - carriageway and footway network, drainage systems, bridge structures and road markings.

The Supervisor works closely with other departments and Clients in order to ensure all involved parties' interests are met.

The post holder will supervise various work streams within the reactive and proactive programmes and be responsible for supervising these works through to completion, to ensure the projects are completed within identified safety & time parameters.

Main Responsibilities

You will be co-ordinating small teams of Maintenance Operatives with respect to work tasks, welfare and safety and be indirectly responsible by ensuring works are delivered with regards to cost, quality & time.

You will need too co-ordinate small teams of Maintenance Operatives with respect to work tasks, welfare and safety whilst maintaining a good relationship with clients.

You will need to ensure that all work is carried out to Company Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards and to regularly communicate with staff and operatives on these matters.

You will need to carry out Safety Audits as laid down by line management.

You will be providing leadership and direction to several gangs across various work activities, e.g., small areas of footway & carriageway surfacing, paving works, drainage, signage, gully cleansing and others.

You will have a good working knowledge of health and safety police and strong IT skills. You will have the ability to keep good work records.

You will need a valid clean driving licence and have the flexibility of working occasional out of normal hours working.

You will need a thorough working knowledge of site safety rules and a good working knowledge of highway legislation.

Strong leadership qualities is necessary and you will be a motivator and people manager, able to coach and develop staff.

You will have good written and verbal communication skills and be a good listener. You will have detailed knowledge of our industry.

You will have the ability to work on own initiative and evaluate appropriate action and to remain focused under pressure.
