Description
The European Road Freight Forwarder who will report into the Line Manager or Director will complete the following tasks:

Investigating and planning the most appropriate route for a shipment, considering the perishable or hazardous nature of goods, cost, transit time and security
Handling all general freight forwarding job from initial quotation to final delivery
Providing a high level of customer service and building good business relationships with clients
Maintaining and establishing relationships with customers new and old
Liaising with customers, overseas agents, and shipping lines
Collating documentation for customs clearance
Completion of customs entries
Arranging deliveries
Dealing with any queries
Liaising with hauliers and internal transport team
Keeping customers informed with the status of their shipments
Quotations
Updating the company inhouse system
Administration and invoicing
Commercial awareness all at times

Profile
The ideal European Road Freight Forwarder will have the following skills and attributes:

Experience within European road freight operations.
Previously worked within freight forwarding
Good knowledge and understanding of freight forwarding procedures and documentation.
Good communication skills.
Knowledge of customs clearance and multi modal documentation desired but not essential.
Qualification in freight forwarding or hazardous goods desirable.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines whilst being consistent.
Experience with both imports and exports is desired.
Ability to work independently and amongst a team.
Flexible and adaptable attitude with a willingness to learn.
