MMP Consultancy currently have an opportunity for a Fire Safety Project Officer to join a local authority based in Hampshire

This will be a permanent position paying £43,319 inclusive of a £1,239 car allowance plus benefits.

Role Summary:

Reporting to the Housing Fire Safety Manager, you will:

Be responsible for the day-to-day project management and successful delivery of the Council's major housing active and passive fire improvement and replacement programme projects and actions arising from fire risk assessments.
Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary teams (consultants, inhouse professional service teams and contractors engaged on projects.
Ensure projects are completed on time, within agreed budgets and to current fire safety standards, in response to fire safety in council homes to ensure compliance with all statutory fire safety laws, regulations, codes of practice and guidance.

About You:

You will hold an appropriate construction related professional qualification, alongside membership to RICS or CIOB and/or working towards full membership, and at least 3 years demonstrable experience working in a similar client project management role.

You will have an excellent understanding and proven track record in delivering active and passive fire protection work, including compartmentalisation, suppression and retrofit, alongside comprehensive knowledge of the building industry, procurement and contract management using JCT suite of contracts.

You will have sound working understanding of project management principles and a good working knowledge of legislation relating to health and safety, Building Regulations, standards and best practice in fire safety.

You will be IT literate, have good interpersonal skills and be able to work independently using your own initiative.
