The Trade Management and Asset Servicing Department within Middle Office exists to provide administration activities which support trade settlement in the market, identification and processing of income / corporate action events in the market and accurate feeds to the accounting platform for the purpose of NAV and Start of Day deliveries.


This support includes:

  • Trade capture across Securities, FX and Money Market products
  • Trade matching via electronic platform and manual confirmations
  • Trade settlement
  • Event Capture
  • Event processing with accurate and timely settlement
  • Cash and Stock Reconciliation
  • Client, Broker and Custodian Reporting


The department is responsible for the above client service in relation to securitised products including equities, bonds and unit trusts and cash products including FX, money market and loans.


  • Purpose: To perform trade capture, matching and settlement activity on behalf of BP2S clients
  • Scope: UK based with support and interaction across BP2S global Trade Management teams

The Responsibilities
Client Service Delivery and controls

  • To ensure a high quality client service is delivered to all clients through the following:
  • Mailbox management and workload allocation
  • Oversight of administrator delivery
  • Preparation and attendance at client calls
  • Support to administrator where attendance is required on calls
  • Ensure the service level provided by the team adheres to the Client Service Delivery agreements
  • Strong understanding of department KPIs
  • Strong understanding of KPIs outwith department where the team have a direct impact eg NAV/SOD
  • Good knowledge of the services outlined with the client SLA relevant to the department
  • Accountability for team/administrator performance to ensure deliverables met accurately and on time
  • Ensure adherence to core standard operating models
  • Monthly procedure review with allocation to SME for update, ensuring any changes for that month are incorporated
  • Accountability for PACT update as per allocation agreed
  • Good understanding of any new models introduced as a result of client onboardings
  • Build strong, professional relationships with clients and be an ambassador for BNP Paribas
  • Professional written and verbal communication at all times
  • Proactive engagement in meetings/calls
  • Collaborative approach across BNP Paribas locally and globally
  • Develop internal stakeholder relationships with the wider team as well as general business support

  • Support external counterparty relationships, providing feedback for performance reviews e.g. brokers and custodians

Continuous Improvement & New Business

  • Proactive generation of ideas for improvements to systems and processes in support of client requirements and BNP Paribas Securities Service strategic objectives
  • Proactive updates to opportunity tracker on identification of idea
  • Accountability for own ideas, escalating where required to gain traction
  • Support the development and implementation of such improvements
  • Actively work to reduce Non STP processes
  • Monthly objectives review in conjunction with line manager
  • Involvement in the design and implementation of resilient processes/ systems to support new/changes to business products including mandatory changes to market/governance and regulations
  • Collaboration with MOOBT team to ensure successful UAT testing
  • Proactive SME feedback on new/changes to processes/systems
  • Support to administrators who are engaged in UAT / SME sessions
  • Identifying own areas for development and take proactive action to source training
  • Support administrator in identifying and closing any development gaps
