Speech and Language Therapist

(Development Option
)

Band 5-6 (development option); 37.5 hours - Aberdeen HSCP Adult SLT Team


The post will initially sit within the Community Adult team which provides an extremely diverse service covering a wide range of clients ranging in age from 16 to 100+ and with a variety of presenting conditions.

Clients are seen in a range of settings including clinics, domiciliary and Care Homes.

We have a dysfluency service, Dementia Champions, and run regular groups for people with Parkinson's Disease and for people with Dementia and their families.

In time we would also envisage this post providing opportunities to work within our Neuro rehabilitation and Frailty pathways.

The Neuro Rehabilitation pathway covers in-patient rehabilitation, transitional living and outpatient services.

The Frailty pathway provides input across both in-patient and domiciliary settings with the aim of supporting discharges from hospital and preventing admissions.


The Aberdeen Health and Social Care Partnership SLT team also provide services to the Stroke Rehabilitation Unit, the Stroke Supported Discharge Team and a Grampian-wide Videofluoroscopy Service.

The SLT team have a wide range of skills and experience and are friendly and supportive. An established supervision structure is in place for all team members.
