Air Liquide Oil & Gas Services Ltd ('ALOS') is a subsidiary of Air Liquide Group, within Air Liquide Maritime Business Unit, and is composed of a diverse team dedicated to serve customers operating offshore, on a worldwide basis.
The entity has been growing fast, through organic growth and acquisitions. The head office is currently in Aberdeen, UK, with several branches worldwide.
The accounting team is in charge of the finance and accounting activities of 4 affiliates including three UK entities and one Norwegian affiliate.
The Chief Accountant position is responsible for leading a finance team of 5 to ensure internally and externally the quality and reality of produced financial reports for local and consolidated obligations as well as for tax and social administration.
Controls the internal & external financial reports quality and accuracy
- Realizes accounting procedures and reports including income statements, balance sheets, tax returns, cash flow statements and controls the consistence with procedures
- Makes sure that the accounting principles are respected and that accounting methods for transactions are logical, accurate, adequate and optimal
- Informs the other personnel in the company of all accounting rules, while remaining a proactive business partner for the organization
- Leading annual external audit 3 UK and 1 Norway entity
Coordinates and supervises entity accounting operations
- Implements, supervises and secures a monthly, quarterly, yearly hard closing process for local and group reporting
- Ensures the global coordinations for keeping the books between team members
Produces the documents for the evaluation of the company performance
- Review monthly group consolidation reporting packages.
- Realizes monthly group reporting subpackage.
- Reviews and controls all documents produced by accounting team
- Reviews social and tax packages. Supervises VAT calculations
- Ensures, monitors and coordinates the tax rules compliance
Makes the appropriate choices in terms of accounting methods
- Enforces IFRS and Group Air Liquide rules.
- Communicates to the organization the official reglementations. Provides complete documentation for procedures
- Approuves provision proposals made by Accountants
- Realizes complex accounting operations. Realizes Tax and deferred tax computation
- Ensure a good internal control environment
Supervises and develops the Accounting & Cash collection Team
- Manages 5 team members, delegating and organizing tasks, as well as motivating and leading teams
- Sets annual objectives for the team, provides regular feedback, evaluates performance through annual appraisals.
- Ensures that training and qualification programs are implemented and that quality procedures are followed by all staff.
- Manages the vacations and absences of the accounting clerks
- Permanently looks for efficiency and quality improvements in its team.
Ad-hoc projects
- Support Maritime Accounting manager on ad hoc Finance and Accounting project

Are you a MATCH?:
- 5 to 15 years of applicable experience in business and accounting
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
- 3 to 5 years accounting managerial experience
- Updated knowledge in tax and accounting matters (IFRS)
- Experience with multi currency and hedge accounting
- Analyzing financial data and business KPI to identify key issues
- Have extensive knowledge in fastpaced technologies and accounting system and possess excellent numeracy skills
- Strong IT skills, especially with Excell/google tools
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics (AX) is an advantage
- Master's Degree is preferred
- Knowledge of Norway accounting is an advantage
- Presenting with confidence, ease and enthusiasm to get impact on audience
- Working with and involve people in clarifying roles and objectives
- Demonstrate decisiveness and action
- Ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines
- Proven Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees
