We are recruiting a new team member to be part of the street cleaning service covering the Todmorden area.

A full UK driving licence is essential (manual car) and you must have held a Category B Licence for at least 2 years to drive a work vehicle.
The Green Spaces and Street Scene Service is responsible for maintaining the beautiful borough of Calderdale.

This includes looking after our parks and open spaces, play areas, highways, countryside & forestry, and ensuring that the streets are kept clear of litter, public litter bins are emptied, and fly tipping is removed.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our service and be part of a team that is responsible for keeping the streets clean.

You will carry out tasks such as sweeping, litter picking and emptying public litter bins safely and in line with service requirements.

You will be expected to manage your own tasks, have strong organisational and interpersonal skills and be competent in working in an outdoor environment.

This role will be based in Todmorden although there may be some requirement to work in other areas and so it is essential that you have a flexible approach.

You will be expected to work outside of core hours including weekends and on standby if required for which you will receive enhanced pay.

We offer;

  • Use of a work vehicle as required
  • Essential PPE (uniform, hi vis jacket, boots, gloves)
  • All equipment required to carry out the role
  • Generous pension scheme
  • 27 days annual leave, increasing to 32 days after 5 years continuous Local Government service (prorata for part time staff) plus 8 statutory holidays
