Duties:


  • Provides daytoday advice and guidance to employees for work assignments; relays instructions from the supervisor for work assignments; gets the work started and sets the work pace; demonstrates work methods and provides workrelated guidance; ensures that worksite materials and tools are available; and ensures that employees follow security, safety and housekeeping rules.
  • Operates a fullservice coffee bar. Prepares a variety of hot and cold beverages such as brewed coffee, mocha, latte, espresso, cappuccino, chai, hot chocolate, blended ice drinks, fruit smoothies, etc, by selecting proper ingredients and following set recipes for each individual variation of drink. Serves prepackage cold beverages and food items, such as wraps, hot/cold sandwich, salad, juice, yogurt, cookies, muffins, pastries, etc. Receives payment, operates cash register, makes and returns change to patrons.
  • Opens and closes facility following set procedures. Sets up work area for operation and obtain cash bank. Completes necessary documentation for each funds accountability.
  • Assists with inventories and identifies items for reordering.
  • Trains new employee as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
  • This position requires the incumbent to complete a physical exam.
  • Permanent Change of Station (PCS) orders, or a valid UK work visa is required.
  • This position requires the incumbent to be available for shift work.
  • Must be able to obtain Food Handler's Certificate and/or complete food handler's training.

    Qualifying Experience:
  • Ability to lead three or more workers to accomplish food service duties.
  • Must be able to follow simple oral instructions, be able to use hand tools for cleaning, and operate simple machines. Must be skilled in doing tasks with several steps and must use judgement in sequencing tasks.
  • Knowledge of sanitation standards in handling and serving food.
  • Must be physically able to frequently lift or move objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Must be able to continuously stand and walk, and frequently stoop, reach, push, pull and bend for long periods of time. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a preemployment physical.
  • Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and/or complete food handler's training.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI)/T1 investigation

Education:

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify.
