This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Danesbury Neurological Administration Team, supporting the ward manager, lead therapists and nursing team to maintain efficient running of the ward.


To manage own administrative workload with the ability to prioritise the clinical teams administration needs, to support the team to provide a high standard of patient care.

Works unsupervised on assigned administrative tasks.

Support the day to day running of the ward's nurses station and administration duties of the clinical team.

To act as a point of contact for visitors, health professionals and patient queries.


To provide a high-quality administrative service to meet the requirements of the ward, including data collation and documentation, audits, surveys, filing, making and receiving telephone calls, photocopying etc.


Act as the first point of contact for visitors, patients, carers, health professionals, ensuring that everyone is greeted and attended to with a high focus on customer service standards.

To work unsupervised and organise/manage their own workload on day-to-day basis.

Ordering medication - liaising with the pharmacy team to ensure patient medication arrives in a timely manner.

Liaise with external companies
- i.e., requesting and cancelling medical equipment.

Maintain the ward diary and action all the requests from the clinical team.

Prepare appropriate paperwork for all new admissions to the ward.

To check / book patient follow-up appointments as required

To book all patient transport requests for external appointments/visits

To deal with enquiries, exercising initiative with regard to necessary action, using sensitivity and tact.

Ensure that all messages are relayed as quickly as possible to the team.

To order stationery, staff uniforms and non-stock items as directed, in accordance with procedures and adhering to budget levels.

Submit requests for repairs of equipment/buildings/furnishing etc. in accordance with procedures.

Effectively communicate with patients

To provide general, non-clinical advice, information and guidance to patients.

Confidentiality must be maintained at all times.

To record information and scan documents onto SystmOne on behalf of the Unit

Develop, organise, and monitor information in a variety of formats.

Able to create and maintain documents and spread sheets.

Produce documents, charts, tables, databases etc. by use of Microsoft packages e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, PowerPoint, Outlook and other software such as SystmOne.
