AWS Platform Engineer (must be SC eligible)

Salary:
£60,000 - £79,000 DOE + car allowance and bonus

Location:
London (Mostly Remote)

This position of AWS Platform Engineer is for a technology consultancy based in the heart of London. Home to a team made up of thousands of digital, intelligence and cyber space experts.

They have many offices situated globally and have recently launcheda new digital sector aimed at improving the companies outreach and quality of services.

With clients in both the public and private sectors, they provide state of the art software solutions to their clients, ensuring their systems are up-to-date and protectedwith the latest and most modern level of security.

As they are a fully in-house operation seeing their products through from design and build to maintenance and aftercare, they are able to provide a digital advantage in the most demanding of environments givingtheir clients the freedom to grow their organisations safely and securely.

The Role:

Responsibility:

Design, build and maintain secure cloud infrastructure
Design, build and maintain build and release pipelines.
Deploy and monitor software and configuration changes
Automate efficient working practices where possible

Requirements:

Essential -

Experience in scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python.
Microsoft Azure with attention on their Platform as a Service offerings (App Services, Azure SQL, CosmosDB)
Experience with Infrastructure as Code. Preferably ARM templates.
Web based authentication flows such as OAuth or SAML
Effective source control management with Git# Expertise in monitoring large distributed systems using technologies such as ELK or Grafana.
Build and Release Management using Azure DevOps (VSTS) or a similar product
UI / Functional testing with Selenium
Prometheus and tooling provided by cloud platform vendors

Desirable -

Experience with container management and microservices architectures such as Docker and Kubernetes
Experience of working in an Agile environment
Experience of working with other cloud environments such as AWS & Google Cloud
NodeJS
Ruby on Rails
