Description
We are delighted to be working once more with a highly successful and reputable precision engineering company (aerospace sector). They are recruiting on a Permanent basis for a Centre Lather Turner.


Role Profile:

Experienced in the use of a Centre Lathe. Producing parts predominantly in Aluminium and Stainless steel, occasionally other materials are used. You will also be required to supervise production staff or apprentices.


Hours:


Day Shift
Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 16:30 (30-minute unpaid lunch break)

Friday 08:00 to 14:00 (No lunch break)


Late Shift
Monday to Thursday 16:30 to 01:00 (30-minute unpaid lunch break)

Friday 14:00 to 20:00 (No lunch break)


Duties:


  • Interpreting drawing and identifying best machining practice
  • Setting up machine with tooling
  • Producing First off and inspection
  • Operating/Loading machines
  • Reporting of any defects and production issues to Shift Leaders / Supervisors
  • Conducting basic testing and quality checks highlighting any issues to Supervisors
  • Basic machine maintenance / daily checks
  • Adhering to Health & Safety Regulations
  • General house keeping and ensuring work areas are free from hazards
  • Working to the approved Production Plan
  • Completion of time sheets/shop floor data collection in a timely manner

Requirements:


  • Experienced Centre Lathe Turner/Tool room Turner
  • Time served or equivalent experience an advantage
  • Ability to effectively work in a team environment and on own initiative
  • Ability to effectively communicate to all levels within the organisation
  • Willingness to learn new methods, processes and techniques
  • Commitment to implementing business improvement initiatives
  • Well organised

Job Types:
Full-time, Temp to perm


Pay:
£15.64-£16.00 per hour
