Internal and external exams are undertaken during the months of:

October, November, January, March, April, May and June.

Job description

Exam Invigilator

Main Duties & Responsibilities
To conduct examinations in accordance with the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ), awarding bodies and Landau Forte College directives/instructions.

The role of the invigilator is to ensure that all examinations are conducted accordingly in order to:

  • ensure the security of the examination before, during and after the examination;
- prevent possible administrative failures.


Invigilators
must:

- give all their attention to conducting the examination properly;

Invigilators
must not
- carry out any other non-examination related tasks in the examination room.


Before exams:


  • To report to the Lead Invigilator 30 minutes before the start of each exam session to receive instructions
  • To keep exam papers and materials secure before, during and after exams
  • To ensure exam rooms are set out to standard and in accordance with Regulations

During exams:


  • To keep disruption to a minimum
  • To deal with emergencies or irregularities effectively
  • To record/report any disruption or irregularities
  • To complete attendance registers

After exams:


  • To collect exam scripts
  • To securely return all exam scripts and any exam materials to the Examination Officer

General:


  • Work in a professional manner and with integrity and maintain confidentiality of records and information
  • Maintain up to date knowledge in line with national changes and legislation as appropriate to the role
  • Be aware of and comply with all College policies including in particular Health & Safety and Safeguarding
  • Adhere to all internal and external deadlines
  • Contribute to the overall aims and ethos of Landau Forte College


The above mentioned duties are neither exclusive nor exhaustive, the post-holder maybe required to carry out other duties as required.

A comprehensive training session will be held for any new invigilators prior to starting invigilation duties.


An update meeting will be held annually for the existing invigilation team to ensure that they are aware of any changes to regulations.


The Examinations Officer is the person appointed by the Head of Centre to act on behalf of, and be the main point of contact for the centre in matters relating to the general administration of awarding body examinations and assessments, including any cases of malpractice.
