Role Description

Scott Taylor Garden Design Ltd is seeking a talented
Garden Designer with a passion for creating beautiful outdoor living spaces and gardens to join our team.

This is a full-time hybrid role, implying that the role is located in Oxted, but some remote work is acceptable.

The
Garden Designer will work closely with clients to understand their needs and preferences of their outdoor spaces and gardens, develop garden design concepts, create detailed garden design plans and presentations, and collaborate with our team to deliver outstanding projects.

You must be based in the UK and within travelling distance to Oxted, Surrey, Sussex and Kent.

We're looking for someone with the ability to work from garden site surveys to develop full garden design concepts using SketchUp.

You'll be responsible for 5 _
key roles_ within our GARDEN design company;

Creating sketch up models from site survey information
Producing beautiful garden designs from the information given by clients and direction from the Lead Designer
Producing detailed plans and diagrams for our construction team
Producing renders using Lumion or twinmotion
Preparing quantities, costings and proposals using our simple software

You will have an excellent working knowledge of Sketch Up and or Lumion/Twinmotion.

You will have your own laptop and Sketch Up subscription. Lumion/Twinmotion subscription also preferable

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with clients to understand their vision and requirements for their gardens.
Design and create innovative and functional garden plans, incorporating elements such as plants, hardscapes, and water features.
Prepare detailed drawings, 3D renderings, and mood boards to effectively communicate design concepts.
Select and source appropriate materials, plants, and accessories to bring the designs to life.
Work closely with our team to ensure seamless execution of projects, from concept to completion.
Conduct site visits and consultations with clients, as well as occasional visits to our studio.

Mandatory Requirements:

Proven experience as a Garden Designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing your design skills.
Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar tools.
Indepth knowledge of plants, horticulture, and landscaping principles.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with clients and team members.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
A valid driver's license and access to transportation for occasional site visits.
