Nexus Health Group role, but the post will be based at Princess Street Practice, but the post holder may be required to work at any of Nexus locations


JOB PURPOSE:


To primary, provide a high quality, comprehensive payroll and pension service ensuring all staff are paid in accordance with their contractual conditions of service and in line with statutory regulations for Nexus Health Group.

In addition to the above areas of responsibilities, the position may be required to undertake any other reasonable duties relating to the broad scope of the position.

MAIN DUTIES

Payroll

  • Collate information from managers/responsible staff at sites with regard to any monthly changes or updates to payroll and provide necessary information to payroll service to process payroll
  • Cross check payroll submission with Human Resources and managers records
  • Carry out all payroll input by appropriate deadlines
  • Liaise with the payroll provider regarding queries
  • To check and sign off monthly payroll summaries as provided by payroll service
  • Process leaver payments and issue P45 in a timely manner
  • To set up BACS payments of salary to all employed staff in line with agreed payroll dates, if required
  • Assist with reconciliation of payroll & produce costing reports for Finance department
  • Assist with the efficient reconciliation and payments to HMRC, Pension organisations and all other bodies.
  • Responsible for enquiries from staff and for the efficient completion of correspondence from HMRC and any relevant bodies in a timely manner
  • Assist & cooperate in any internal or external audits.
  • Adhoc duties as and when they arise.

Pensions

  • Coordinate the reporting of all pension documents, including new starters, leavers, changes etc. to all pension organisations
  • Process and manage the Pension Schemes for all staff
  • Monthly process pension new starters and leavers
  • Process the end of year updates
  • Liaise with all NHS Pension for any queries
  • Process retirement and any other pension form as and when they arse
  • Complete end of year submission for GP Pensions
  • Manage the pension auto enrolment process
  • Deal with pension queries from pension bodies and staff in timely and efficient manner

Finance

  • Administration and reconciliation of GL account
  • To input to Payroll journals
  • Provide cover for areas including entering processing supplier invoice, patty cash, processing payment and other Adhoc duties as when they arise

Personal Development and Professional responsibilities

  • Maintain & develop own skills & keep up to date with relevant legislation.
  • Be aware of personal limitations in knowledge and seek appropriate advice from managers or accountants.
  • Work collaboratively with all colleagues within and outside of the practice.
  • To take responsibility for own developmental learning and performance.
  • To undertake training as required including mandatory training, core skills training and ongoing developmental training. Assess own preferred learning methods and to adapt learning as required.
  • All staff have a responsibility to participate in the practice's appraisal scheme.
  • To actively participate in ongoing one to one meetings with line manager to review development and performance.
  • To attend and participate in practice meetings including educational and developmental practice meetings. To strive to maintain quality within the practice.
  • To alert line manager to issues of quality and risk.
  • To assess own performance and take accountability for own actions.
  • To contribute to the effectiveness of the team by reflecting on own and teams performance and making suggestions to improve and enhance activities.
