Butler Rose is delighted to be partnered with a Torbay business, who have a current requirement for Procurement Manager to join the organisation and deliver a strategic procurement service for future commercial development.

Duties include:


  • Identify, optimise, and drive improvements in the Supply Chain process ensuring an integrated and joined up solution across the business
  • Develop and improve supply chain KPIs and use them to monitor and drive performance
  • Drive strategic supplier reviews and plan for supplier on boarding and exits
  • Manage risk in the supply chain to support business objectives.
  • Forecast price trends and their impact on future activities, develop and action strategies to maximise/reduce their impact on the business
  • Manage materials savings & efficiency initiatives in line with overall business objectives.
  • Maintenance and reviews of bill of materials leading to sourcing decision making
  • Manage schedule adherence from external supply partners in line with business requirements
  • Identify, qualify, and implement new and secondary sources of supply or alternative product ranges thus mitigating supply risk
  • Resolution of supplier queries; liaison with relevant departments and timely response to suppliers
  • Working closely with the quality manager, being responsibility for returned and rejected products to sustainable corrective action(s)
  • Provide quotations in furtherance of spares revenue stream enquiries

To be chosen for the role you must possess the following skills/experience:

  • Experience within a manufacturing environment
  • High level MRP experience with strong IT skills
  • Experience in negotiations, both adhoc and strategic
  • Motivational team player able to engage and enthuse
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team
  • Experienced in developing partnerships with suppliers
  • Demonstrable ability to drive cost down and improve commercial conditions with suppliers
  • Good IT skills in Word and Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to travel if required
  • Team leader or management experience desirable

Package

  • Salary up to £50,000
