THE ROLE

Reporting to the Head of Cloud Infrastructure, the DevOps Lead Engineer will join a dynamic, fastpaced and highly skilled team working to maintain and improve their cloud services to support their growing product and customer base.

You will play a critical role partnering with Product, Development, and QA teams to deliver SaaS solutions to the world.

You should have a passion for DevOps, Cloud Architecture and Infrastructureas-Code, and a desire to pursue excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS

  • Ensure cloud solutions are secure, scalable, resilient, monitored, auditable and costoptimised. Continually evaluate existing infrastructure to identify risks or opportunities for improvement
  • Ownership of InfrastructureasCode (IaC). Drive the future approach, design and development of IaC deployments
  • Own build, test and deploy using CI/CD with Azure DevOps pipelines
  • Contribute to the definition and development of companywide Infrastructure Architecture
  • Contribute to estimation and scheduling of DevOps and Operational scope
  • Troubleshoot and rectify problems in their services and deployed systems
  • Quickly and safely build & deploy, effortlessly recover systems in case something goes wrong, and multiply the productivity of a team with tools
  • Manage automation, monitoring tools, and developing tools to improve efficiency, keeping systems secure, adhering to security compliance, and abstracting complexity
  • Define and implement procedures to achieve operational excellence and adhere to security compliance requirements
  • Implement Cloud and DevOps industry best practices and tooling. Stay abreast of the evolving landscape and evaluate new technologies to make substantiated recommendations for improvement
  • Run DevOps team daily standups and provide team coaching
  • Participate in afterhours upgrades and troubleshooting activities, as required
  • Is part of oncall support roster.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Required

  • Relevant experience in a Developer or DevOps role
  • Handson experience working with cloud infrastructure and services (Azure preferred)
  • Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines and tools (Azure DevOps preferred)
  • Experience with IaC tools (Pulumi preferred, Terraform, Bicep or ARM also useful)
  • Experience with Containers & Container Orchestration (Kubernetes)
  • Experience with at least one scripting language
  • Git repository and release management experience
  • Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle and experience working in Production environments
  • Experience with configuration management tools
  • Excellent and demonstrable organisational and planning skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
  • Able to demonstrate a high level of professionalism
  • Able to multitask and manage changing priorities
  • Ability to problem solve and come up with creative solutions.
Desired

  • Exposure to PCI-DSS in previous roles
  • Exposure to ISO 27001 in previous roles
  • Business Continuity or Disaster Recovery planning experience
- .Net (C#) development experience

  • Typescript and/or Python experience
  • Advanced Bash and/or PowerShell scripting
  • Working knowledge of SQL Server
  • BSc or Diploma in Computer Science, Software or IT related discipline.
