Description

The main objective of this position is to provide a fresh cold buffet lunch for colleagues and visiting clients, catering for a variety of tastes and dietary requirements, while maintaining the dining area and kitchen to meticulously high standards.


It is an important part of the culture of the company to share lunch together on a daily basis, which makes this role a key part of the successful running of the business.

Maintenance of the kitchen and dining area are just as important, providing colleagues with a pleasant environment for downtime and giving visiting clients a good impression.

You will be interacting with people at all levels of the business and potentially mixing with colour valued clients, so you need to be friendly and comfortable communicating.


This role is part of a small office support team and while you will be fulfilling the only catering role, we are looking for a team player who demonstrates team commitment, flexibility and a positive, proactive attitude.


Role Accountabilities

  • Always comply with all food safety & food health and hygiene regulations, keeping accurate, uptodate records
  • Receive, check and store supermarket deliveries (daily), checking goods are as ordered, keeping them chilled, storing and serving them as appropriate
  • Basic preparation of food; washing and slicing fruit & veg for salads, reheating soup and preprepared packets (e.g. rice, potatoes)
  • Lay out packaged food in refrigerated display cabinets every day for buffet lunch at 12 noon
  • Daytoday use and maintenance of kitchen and appliances (microwave, professional dishwasher, fridgefreezers, coffee machine)
  • Keeping the kitchen, its surrounds and equipment clean as you go
  • General kitchen duties e.g. washing up and loading and offloading the dishwasher
  • Keeping the dining area and refrigerated cabinets clean and tidy
  • Organise appropriate storage of all F&B consumables, ensuring selfservice items are visible and accessible
  • Responsible for all stock management, keeping accurate records and minimising food waste
  • Purchase required stock through online supermarket with supervision
  • Any other related tasks that may be reasonably requested from time to time

Experience (_Essentials)_

  • Experience of providing basic catering to groups
  • Experience of monitoring and managing stock control systems e.g. in hospitality, retail, facilities contexts
  • Able to demonstrate experience of providing a proactive response to untidy or dirty spaces
  • Proven record of good time management and task prioritisation
  • Demonstrable ability to liaise with stakeholders to provide a high level of service delivery
  • IT Literate

Qualifications

  • Current Food Hygiene Certificate Level 1 (Essential)
  • Current Food Hygiene Certificate Level 3 (Desired)
  • Manual Handling (Desired)

Skills & knowledge

  • Essential_

  • Competent at managing task lists and following standard operating procedures
  • Good written and spoken English skills
  • Ability to communicate professionally with colleagues at all levels
  • Capable of manual handling tasks, including cleaning, lifting, bending, loading and moving goods and furniture
