Annual Salary:
Bucks Pay Scale £21,879- £23,961 dependent on experience and qualifications this could be negotiable
Hours of work: 37 hours a week 52 weeks a year. Specific hours of work will be agreed with the site manager between the hours of 0700 to 1800 Monday to Friday. There will be no split shifts but you may be asked occasionally to work until 2100 to cover school events.
Beaconsfield High School is an outstanding grammar school in Buckinghamshire with over 1,200 students aged 11-18 and 150 staff. An opportunity has arisen for a Site Team Member to join our remarkable school on a permanent basis.
This is a busy and interesting role working in a school environment which will include a range of duties connected with running and maintaining the site.
You will be joining an experienced and friendly site team helping to ensure that they meet all the needs of a busy site and will be well supported by the Site Manager and other school staff.
The site team is responsible for ensuring that the site is safe and fit for purpose and that maintenance is carried out to buildings and grounds as required.
They may also carry out or support small school improvement projects.Reporting to the Facilities Manager, your main responsibilities will be:
- Undertaking repairs and other works indicative with available skills
- Ongoing maintenance work
- Cleaning up spillages and keeping the site tidy and clear of litter
- Locking and unlocking the school
- Being available with to lockup after planned events with reasonable notice
- Ensuring that alarms and nonautomated heating and lighting is turned on and off as necessary
- To carry out internal and external porterage duties as required
- To prepare the school for internal and external functions and lettings
- To supervise Contractors with direction from the Facilities Manager
- Enjoy practical, physical work which will include some lifting and bending
- Be willing to work flexible hours, including on occasion, evenings and weekends
- Have a 'can do' attitude with a flexible and positive mind set
- Be able to work independently and selfmanage workload whilst also happy to work with others as part of a team.
- Have basic knowledge of required H&S standards
- Be reliable and committed to the job
- Be organised and able to meet deadlines
- Have good communication skills
- Be committed to the school's ethos and high expectations
