Multi Utility Project Manager Gas Water electric


Alecto Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Project manager for a role in the South, based out of the office in Bristol.

My clients are an independent multi utility connections company

LV/HV or Gas and water(self lay) bias preferred in a full MU offering.


The Role:

You will have overall responsibility for several projects covering the supply and installation of network infrastructures.
Engage in a range of engineering and consultancy activities associated with the delivery of effective solutions.

You will be working with technical staff, Distribution Network Operators and sub-contractors to meet the project deadlines and customer specifications.

A flexible attitude is essential as you may be asked to undertake other duties to assist in meeting organisational objectives

You will demonstrate a strong personal commitment to exceeding standards and have a positive approach to overcoming obstacles.
Understand the Business and it's commercial environment taking account of commercial risk when making decisions.

Gather information and work logically to develop clear solutions with an ability to solves complex problems, seeing them as opportunities for improvement.

Able to work from first principles on technical problems
Build constructive working relationships and seek ways to resolve conflict and manage difficult situations effectively.


Essential Experience

  • Experience within the utilities distribution industry and be familiar with its standards, practices and procedures
  • Ability to make decisions
  • Coordinating site activities and ensuring the safety of all involved
  • Have a strong understanding of commercial terms and conditions and the impact they will have on project delivery
  • Be comfortable working to tight deadlines
  • Have good communication skills verbal and written
  • To provide the required level of contract management including liaising with clerical support and senior management in order to maximise income and profit.

Desirable

  • IOSH
  • SMSTS (CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
  • CSCS card desirable
  • Project Management qualification such as Prince or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Sales and Project Management techniques.
  • Working knowledge of Accountancy Procedures and good understanding of a profit & loss account.
  • Good keyboard skills and working knowledge of PC packages.
  • Commercial awareness including contract law and management of risk.

The Package:

Basic salary of £40,000 - £50,000 dependant on experience + Benefits
