Payroll Assistant


Edinburgh - Full Time - Permanent

The Role


The Payroll Assistant will report to the Payroll Manager and be part of a small but supportive Payroll Team within a wider Finance Team.

They will be involved in running end-to-end payroll for over 1300 staff, updating systems with any changed and resolvingany payroll related queries.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining the Payroll ( Sage ) processing starters and leavers and any changes etc.
  • We use a time and pay management system called Bizimply which we also maintain alongside the Payroll to allow all hours to be uploaded directly to Payroll each month
  • Dealing with internal queries and questions from employees on payroll related matters
  • Periodic and ad hoc reporting
  • Ensuring systems/processes are constantly analysed and updated
  • Adhoc duties

Skills and Experience

  • Reliable
  • High attention to detail
  • Experience in Payroll is beneficial but not essential
  • Have a good working knowledge of MS Excel
  • Strong communication skills
