About the team and role


This is a great opportunity to join our stable, forward thinking and innovative Audit, Risk and Assurance Shared Service (ARA).

We provide a full range of professional Internal Audit services to Gloucestershire County Council, Stroud District Council andGloucester City Council, as well as a teckal company.

The Group Manager post is a key role within our team.

Reporting directly to the Head of ARA and in conjunction with them, you will carry collective accountability in providing leadership, management and development of the Shared Service.

You will ensureARA meets the requirements of relevant legislation, professional standards and the needs of ever-changing public services.

The post has direct line management responsibility for the Principal Auditors and Technical Officers within the team, as well as supervisoryresponsibility for all other ARA staff members.


About you
Full understanding of the principles of Internal Audit and Risk Management are required. The post holder must be able to own and manage service workloads to meet deadlines.

Strong communication, negotiating and influencing skills are essential, as you willhave regular exposure to Members, senior officers and stakeholders within our partners.
