Job Purpose


As the Payroll Trainee in our Education Services team you will be primarily responsible for assisting with the processing of payrolls within the team, to provide a first-class payroll bureau service to clients.

You will receive full training and support, and we will structure a career path for you to follow which will be set around objectives agreed during regular appraisals.


In addition to significant on the job training and internal programmes through the Mazars Payroll Academy, as a Trainee you will also progress your career with funded training through the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals.


Role & Responsibilities

  • To support clients by running your own portfolio of payrolls once fully trained
  • To provide support to the wider Mazars Payroll Team in the processing of their client portfolios
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and external contacts at all levels.
  • To be trained in basic payroll calculations to gain an understanding on how payroll works and calculations are completed.

  • To obtain a basic level of understanding around other services being provided to clients (and not just payroll)

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Good IT skills, Microsoft suite and basic level of Excel (essential)
  • Minimum 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) grades A-C required
  • Good numeracy skills
  • Previous payroll experience not necessary as full training and support will be provided
